Interest in Felix Nmecha
Manchester City are among a host of European clubs to have enquired about Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha this summer, according to reports in Germany.
The 25-year-old came through the City Football Academy before moving to the Bundesliga, and is now attracting attention from his former club as well as Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid. Bayern Munich's Max Eberl has also reportedly made contact with Nmecha's representatives.
Dortmund value the attacking midfielder at around €100 million and are not keen to sell, though they would consider offers above that figure. Nmecha's contract contains an €80 million release clause that becomes active in 2027, dropping to roughly €70 million the following year. For now, the price remains negotiable.
His stock has risen sharply during the ongoing World Cup in North America. Playing under Julian Nagelsmann, Nmecha has been one of the tournament's standout performers, scoring and assisting against Curaçao before adding another assist against Ivory Coast.
That form has prompted Dortmund's board to adjust their demands, with initial whispers of a €60 million fee now off the table as they look to spark a bidding war.
City's interest comes as Sporting Director Hugo Viana prepares for a busy summer. The club is working on a British-record deal for Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, while doubts persist over the futures of Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders and Nico Gonzalez. Rúben Dias is also the subject of reported interest from Real Madrid.
Incoming manager Enzo Maresca, who is expected to officially take charge before pre-season in July, is looking to rebuild his midfield engine room following recent departures. City will only pursue Newcastle's Sandro Tonali under specific circumstances.
